Bee's letter Meeting
the Idol - Anita Mui I remember when I
first met Anita, it was on May 28, 1984. She came to Kuala Lumpur
with her partner Leslie Chueng, they had their stage performance in the
"First Dancing Hall - Night Club". At that time,
concert was not popular in Kuala Lumpur. Therefore
all singers would sing and perform in the nightclubs in the form of "stage
performance". The show time
was 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. I am really very
lucky that I have a mother who really loves me. Knowing that I liked Anita, she bought the tickets and went
with me to see the performance of Anita and Leslie.
This was my first and the most unforgettable memory of Anita.
(Her affectionate greeting made me feel so warm). That night, when
Anita and Leslie finished singing, fans were arranged to go to the back stage,
so that they could take pictures with the stars. Fans were very excited and high.
I wished to get to the back stage quickly, unfortunately my hand got
abraded among the crowd. Finally it
was my turn to go to the back stage. One
of her staff asked me: " Little girl, your hand is bleeding.
Want to put on some medicine?"
I was in the queue and was so eager to get the augtograph of Anita that I
disregarded the staff. Then Anita saw my bleeding too.
She asked me with affection: " Are you Okay? Painful?"
When I heard Anita asking me, I could not feel any pain at all and
replied foolishly: "No problem, no problem!" In fact, when I saw her,
I was so excited that I was unable to feel anything already.
(Any other fans in my situation, would be just like me!!!) After we
returned home, I felt so painful when my mother put on the medicine for me.
But, it was worthwhile. This
abrasion made me realize that Anita, though with ever changeable images on
stage, was so friendly and affectionate when off the stage.
(definitely would not act like big stars). Since then, every
time Anita performs in Kuala Lumpur, I always go to support her!
